Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join The University of Vermont Health Network as part of the Perioperative Services team. As a Pre/Post Anesthesia Care Unit RN, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients throughout their perioperative journey. This includes preparing patients for procedures, monitoring them during treatments, and ensuring post-procedure recovery and education.

The ideal candidate will be a graduate from an accredited School of Nursing and hold a current Registered Professional Nurse license in New York State. You should have a minimum of two years of med/surg nursing experience, with critical care experience preferred. Strong communication skills, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous learning are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate perioperative care for patients.
• Assist in pre-procedure preparation, intra-procedure monitoring, and post-procedure evaluation.
• Provide effective pain management and patient/family education.
• Demonstrate competence in two of the following areas: Operating Room Circulating Nurse, Pre/Post Nurse, or Endoscopy Nurse.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current Registered Professional Nurse license in New York State.
• Minimum two years of med/surg nursing experience.
• Critical Care experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
