Responsibilities

• Promote professionalism and maintain a cooperative work environment.
• Obtain specimens according to laboratory guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with care providers.
• Maintain compliance with standards and protocols.
• Organize workload efficiently to maintain productivity.
• Ensure proper specimen packaging and transport.
• Perform specimen accessioning and drug screen collection.
• Respond to laboratory phone calls and emergencies.
• Provide phlebotomy services in a patient-centered manner.
• Engage in self-evaluation and continuous improvement.
• Accountable for the quality of patient care.
• Promote service excellence and support laboratory growth.
• Assist in multiple departments or across the health system.
• Perform arterial punctures and maintain infection control practices.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Job Requirements: High School Diploma or Equivalent, Basic computer skills.
• Preferred Job Requirements: Completion of an accredited phlebotomy/medical assistant program with clinicals or previous phlebotomy experience, Clinical setting experience.
