Communication Facilitator-American Sign Language (ASL)

Job Description

The University of Vermont Health Network is seeking a Communication Facilitator proficient in American Sign Language (ASL). In this role, you will provide direct communication support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in educational settings.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate communication using ASL and other modalities to support student learning outcomes.
• Work with students who may use different communication methods in various settings.
• Deliver services in classrooms and school-related activities.

Requirements

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is mandatory.
• Prior experience working with children with diverse language levels and communication needs (1-3 years).
• ASLPI Level III or higher is preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent with 2 years of college or equivalent professional training/experience is required.
