Data Center Operations Technician I

Job Description

The Data Center Operations Technician I position at Flexential is a pivotal role that encompasses providing physical and Level II technical support to customers and resources. The responsibilities range from resolving facility and customer issues to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in the Data Center. This position requires a deep understanding of Facilities infrastructure, Windows operating systems, and effective troubleshooting skills.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

• Provide timely resolution and escalation of facility and customer issues.
• Maintain professionalism and conduct during data center duties.
• Troubleshoot and document technical issues using the ticketing system.
• Follow and implement Flexential Support and Data Center policies diligently.
• Offer local access and escort for vendors and carriers.
• Execute remote hands work for internal and external clients.
• Support 24/7 operations with flexibility in shifts.
• Assist in physical and logical installations of Flexential services.
• Ensure Data Center and surrounding areas' cleanliness.
• Perform Facilities Rounds and escalate relevant information.
• Manage shipping/receiving activities for customers and Flexential deliveries.
• Operate and manage the Badge Access Security System.
• Assist the Critical Infrastructure Manager (CIM) as required.
• Maintain cabling and general inventory levels in collaboration with local management.
• Perform additional duties as necessary and assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
• Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Operating systems.
• Self-motivated and proactive.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail, commitment, and meeting deadlines.
• Preferably 1 year of IT support environment experience.
• AA, BS, or High School Diploma.
• Network +, Security +, or CCNA certification desired.
• Microsoft MCP or MCSA is a plus.

• Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
• Capacity to work in cold environments.
• Aptitude for operating pallet jacks and lifting heavy objects.
• Capability to pull and install cabling.

Base Pay Range

($19.33 - $22.67) is the salary range offered for the position, with the actual pay dependent on candidates' experience, location, and qualifications.
