Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Manager to join Mekiko Cantina. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and service are met in our restaurant. Your responsibilities will include supervising day-to-day operations, conducting interviews, providing training to new hires, and collaborating with the management team to maintain a smooth workflow.

Responsibilities

  • Increase restaurant sales by providing exceptional quality food, beverage, and service.
  • Supervise daily operations to ensure quality and service standards are met.
  • Conduct interviews and assist in the hiring process.
  • Provide orientation and training to new hires.
  • Collaborate with Kitchen Manager and General Manager on scheduling and business demands.
  • Ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and housekeeping tasks are completed.
  • Communicate effectively with the management team and maintain compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
  • Perform opening and closing duties as required.
  • Rotate effectively between front-of-house and back-of-house responsibilities.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a management role in the restaurant industry.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of national, state, and local safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Flexible to work in both front-of-house and back-of-house positions.

Location

Preferably seeking candidates currently residing on the island.
