Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Manager to join Mekiko Cantina. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and service are met in our restaurant. Your responsibilities will include supervising day-to-day operations, conducting interviews, providing training to new hires, and collaborating with the management team to maintain a smooth workflow.
Responsibilities
- Increase restaurant sales by providing exceptional quality food, beverage, and service.
- Supervise daily operations to ensure quality and service standards are met.
- Conduct interviews and assist in the hiring process.
- Provide orientation and training to new hires.
- Collaborate with Kitchen Manager and General Manager on scheduling and business demands.
- Ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and housekeeping tasks are completed.
- Communicate effectively with the management team and maintain compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
- Perform opening and closing duties as required.
- Rotate effectively between front-of-house and back-of-house responsibilities.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a management role in the restaurant industry.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge of national, state, and local safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Flexible to work in both front-of-house and back-of-house positions.
Location
Preferably seeking candidates currently residing on the island.
